D&W markets many of the top brands in the industry, as well as our own line of D&W remanufactured products. We have achieved a strong market penetration with the brands that we represent due to our unique combination of distribution strengths.
D&W has chosen to focus our expertise on specific systems within diesel engines, performance engines, truck & tank and industrial markets. We have identified key components as the central focus of each product line, and then conscientiously chosen products complementary to the core components. This approach has enabled us to become experts in our selected product lines as we focus our attentions on understanding everything there is to know about each line, from assembly to application. Within our product lines, our technical staff is second to none for being able to provide our customers with product and application specific advice and expertise.
Large Specialized Inventory Commitments
One of the most important facets of any distribution system is the availability of product. At D&W, we work every day at having the products our customers need, when they need them.
We believe that a significant inventory investment is essential to meeting the demands created by equipment breakdowns. Today D&W has over 13 million dollars of new and remanufactured equipment and parts in stock ready for immediate shipment. We are committed to continuing to invest in this asset.
Our warehouse management system allows us instant access to inventory availability in any of our nine warehouses. This system, which is managed by our purchasing group, calculates minimum stock levels, generates purchase orders, tracks lost sales and automates many of the inventory management functions. Our product managers also add significant value to the management of this specialized inventory. Their product and market expertise help us spot trends, forecast movement and make other decisions critical to meeting the demands of the market place.
This commitment to a significant inventory investment, controlled by automated systems and guided by product specialists, allows D&W to offer immediate solutions to a variety of equipment needs.
